Section B: Doctor in Psychological Techniques

D.P.R. 5 june 2001 n. 328 and D.L. 9 may 2003 n. 105 established section A and section B of the Register of Psychologists.

All registered to section B are regarded with the professional title of Doctor in psychological techniques for social, organizational and business purposes or Doctor in psychological techniques for services to the person and the community.

All those registered to section B may carry out a series of activities, some of which under the supervision of a psychologist, other independently or in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.

The competencies are different depending on the field of the qualification.

DOCTOR IN PSYCHOLOGICAL TECHNIQUES FOR SOCIAL, ORGANIZATIONAL AND LABOUR CONTEXTS.

The candidate who attained this professional title will be able to:

  • Realize educational projects for the promotion and development of potentialities, individual growth; as well as for the facilitation of processes of communication and improvement of the quality of life.
  • Apply the protocols for career guidance, selection and valorization of human resources.
  • Developing projects of prevention on thematics related to risk and safety.
  • Use of tests for assessment of behaviors, needs, social interaction, psychological fitness for specific tasks and conditions.
  • Collaborating with the psychologist in the construction of tools for psychological investigation.

DOCTOR IN PSYCHOLOGICAL TECHNIQUES FOR SERVICES TO THE PERSON AND THE COMMUNITY.

The candidate who attained this professional title will be able to:

  • Implement interventions for the rehabilitation and social integration of individuals with disabilities, psychiatric disorders and substance dependence.
  • Collaborate with the psychologist in implementing interventions aimed at supporting the parent-child relationship.
  • Collaborate with the psychologists in the implementation of psycho-educational interventions and in health promotion activities.
  • The use of tests for the analysis of behaviours, needs, social interactions, psychological suitability for specific tasks and conditions.
  • Collaborate with the psychologist in the construction of psychological investigation tools.

 

HOW TO REGISTER

The registration to Section B can only be carried out upon:

  • Attainment of the Bachelor's Degree in Science and Techniques of Psychology;
  • Completion of th 6-month internship period;
  • Successful completion of the State Exam.

POST-GRADUATE INTERNSHIP - SECTION B OF THE REGISTER OF PSYCHOLOGISTS.

The internship period is configured as a direct experience, to be carried out under the assistance of professional psychologists. The internship activity is aimed at increasing and developing basic professional competencies and building up a progressive sense of belonging to the professional community. For said reasons, the internship is a fundamental milestone in the overall training of a future psychologist.

In particular, the internship must make possible, or at least facilitate, the achievement of the following objectives:

  1. The understanding of the links between theory and professional practice; namely the integration between acquired knowledge (know) and professionalizing (know-how);
  2. The selection, the redifinition and the re-organization of knowledge and methodologies typical of the profession, in direct connection with the requests and problems to be addressed through professional actions.
  3. The progressive acquisition of a professional role in relation to the operational system and concrete work contexts, with the explicit support of competent professionals carrying out a tutoring function;
  4. Guided analysis of the distinctive characteristics and significant events related to the professional practice; as well as of the strategies adopted for the progressive acquisition of a professional identity;

 

CHARACTERISTICS OF THE INTERNSHIP

In order to grant the minimum quality requirements, the internship must present the following characteristics:

DURATION

The post-graduate internship has a duration of 6 months for a total of 500 hours. The internship activity must be carried out for a maximum of 20 hours per week, for a maximum of 8 hours per week.

The start date of the internship are established for 15 March and 15 October.

NB: Please note that the start date for the internships is 15 october, the complete documents must be sent to the following mail address: tirocinio.postlauream.psicologia@ecampus.it, later than 1 September.

The intenship must be carried out on a regular basis, without prejudice to the following exceptional cases:

  • maternity, paternity or exceptional cases justifying the interruption of the internship period in accordance with the current legislation. The Academic Internship Commission will evaluate any eventual requests for suspension and resumption of the internship period, recognizing as valid the period of internship already accrued.

 

INTERNSHIP LOCATION

The internship is a fundamental element for the achievement of the professional operativeness of the psychologist. The internship must be carried out at institutions providing for the exercise of the activity of psychologist.

The internship period must be carried out at Public and Private institutions deemed suitable by the Joint Committee of the Order of Psychologists in Lombardy or at the Academic Departments with professors registered to the Professional Register of Psychologists. The internship carried out in the academic field must contemplate professional activities in one or more fields, namely: General and experimental psychology, Social Psychology, Labour and organizations psychology, Clinical Psychology, Developmental Psychology.

REQUIREMENTS AND OBLIGATIONS OF THE HOST INSTITUTIONS

The institutions aiming to host the internship period, in addition to attaining accreditation at the OPL, must meet the following requirements:

  • presence of functions and working activites related to the exercise of the psychological practice.
  • The intern may participate directly in activities deemed fundamental for the future professional activities, according to the levels of autonomy required by Law 170/03.
  • The professionals identified as tutors must entertain with the entities a a professional relationship as employees, collaborators or consultants and carry out activity with a specific qualification of psychologist with an appropriate effort per hour.

AGREEMENT BETWEEN HOSTING INSTITUTIONS AND ECAMPUS UNIVERSITY

The internship activities are governed by agreement between eCampus University and the branches deemed eligible by the Joint Committee of the Order of Psychologist of Lombardy.

For the hosting institutions located abroad, the agreement requests must be submitted to the University, that will provide an assessment along with the Order of Psychologists.

 

TRAINING PROJECT AND CONTRIBUTION.

The training project must be considered as an actual project between the intern, the hosting entity and the promoting subject. The educational project must contain the details of the intern, the details of the hosting entity, the location and period of implementation of the internship, the insurance details and the name of the tutor. Furthermore, the project must indicate the objective and the arrangements necessary for its achievement and how to acquire them.

The project must necessarily be completed before the beginning of the semester.

The project must then be approved by the Internship Commission of eCampus University.

A copy of the bank transfer for the contribution of EUR 200.00 for administrative fees and insurance policies must be sent along with the project.

 

FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES OF THE TUTOR

The tutor of the internship is a Psychologist registered to Register A for at least 3 years.

The tutor must carry out the following functions:

  • Introduction of the intern in various contexts of the professional activity;
  • Verification of the experience gained by the intern through a constant monitoring and provision of suggestions and corrections as an integration of the experience;
  • Evaluation of the internship period, taking account of the results achieved by the intern;

If the tutor must interrupt the appointment for any reason, even of a temporary nature, the Organisation must replace him/her with a colleague who has the same requisites provided for by the agreement and must inform the academic Internship Commission. In the event that another psychologist with the required requisites is not available at the Institution, the Internship Commission may indicate a university lecturer who can hold this position or change the location of the internship.

Each tutor must follow no more than 3 interns at the same time, regardless of the number location where they operate.

 

CONTENTS AND OBJECTIVES OF THE INTERNSHIP ACTIVITY

The institutions may not use the interns as replacement for employees and may not consider the internship activity as an additional professional resource. The intern is obliged to carry out the activity in accordance with the aims pursued by the Institution, complying with the provisions relating to the specific sector.

The internship activity is carried out under the guidance of a psychologist registered to section A of Register for at least three years, assuming the role of tutor.

For the admission to the State Exam, the activities must be aimed at the acquisition of the professional competencies provided by Law 170/03.
