The conditions related to the individual and collective well-being may be influenced by the perception of the risk related to the current climate changes; to the high seismic and hydro-geological vunerability of the Italian territory; as well as to problems related to environmental degradation. Safety assessment as well as the prediction of potential risks are variables that may positively influence the economical development and the life condition of entire countries. This line of research promotes projects aimed at the definition of innovative criteria and methodologies for risk assessment, through the elaboration of appropriate mathematical models and the use of digital technologies in public and private sectors, as well as through the implementation of good practices for the evaluation of bio-psychosocial factors. In particular, this research line will focus on innovative sustainable techniques for the realization and/or the recovery of infrastructures for the prevention and mitigation of risk; even in relation to the correct perception on an individual and collective level; as well as on the identification of biological and psychological markers related to the stress perceived.

This line of research promotes research projects aimed at the reduction of the environmental impact through the creation and application of new technologies, processes and methodologies for a more sustainable and efficient technological development. The aforementioned themes will be approached from a multidisciplinary point of view, in order to define systems and strategies for the reduction of C02 emissions, the recycling of materials, the exploitation of renewable resources, the improvement of indoor and outdoor life, as well as to analyze and evaluate the perception of sustainable development.

This line of research promotes projects aimed at the comprehension of the mechanisms and processes related to the correct lifestyles for the psycho-physical development of the subjects operating in risky work conditions and disabled patients; as well as for the environmental sustainability,in relation to age, gender, diet and level of physical activity. The candidates will pursue the aforementioned objectives with innovative and sustainable methologies of analysis of biomolecular, psychological, physiological and environmental data, aimed at the personalization of the interventions. During the learning pathway, the researchers will have at their disposal ICT technologies (wearables, IoT, Machine Learning), and innovative molecular biology technologies.

This line of research features research projects related to the development, the implementation and the validation of highly technological interventions for the heath and well-being of subjects affected by disabling and/or chronic diseases; based on the integration of multidisciplinary models and tools, and in collaboration with specialists and entrepreneurs in the e-health field. In particular, the innovative therapeutic and rehabilitative approaches proposed will integrate methologies and competencies within the field of Biology (molecular markers), Psychology (clinic, health, disability, rehabilitation, and physiological psychology; neuro-psychology), Physical Education (assessment of motor and process skills) and Technology (positive and persuasive technology, gamification, user experience). Furthermore, the researchers will carry out studies aimed at the multidisciplinary evaluation of processes, effects, results and sustainability of the interventions.

This line of research will develop projects related to the identification of individual, relational, psycho-social, biological and environmental factors that may have a positive effect on stress conditions, and promote psychological well-being, health, and correct lifestyles in familiar and professional contexts. The candidates will employ multi-disciplinary approaches for the evaluation of the synergistic effects, and for the assessment of the psychological and biological factors that may cause stress or psycho-relational disorders. Furthermore, the doctorate will promote prevention strategies applicable in the familiar and professional sphere.

This research line promotes projects aimed at the reduction of CO2 emissions through the development of energy conversion systems from renewable sources. The aim of this theme is to promote sustainable development in order to achieve a better quality of life.
