CALL for the selection of candidates to perform the functions of TEACHER ASSISTANTS

 

Art. 1 – Purposes

  1. The aim of the procedure is to select in a non-comparative manner, experts suitable to carry out the function of Teacher Assistants for the performance of seminar and practice activity, as well as for the implementation of exams
  2. Teacher assistants are not allowed to perform any functions other than those provided for by the current legislation and the specific regulations of the University.
  3. The function of teacher assistant is carried out on a voluntary basis to satisfy the cultural and scientific interests of scholars, as well as to maintain links with study and research activities. Therefore, teacher assistants are not entitled to any remuneration, with the exception of reimbursement of expenses and an attendance fee, nor can they entitle to any form of automatic grading within the eCampus University, or in any case to access teaching roles.

Art. 2 - Procedure of selection and appointment 

  1. Aspiring teaching assistants have the possibility to submit an application for selection at any time of the year.
  2. The application is submitted exclusively electronically, using the computer procedure specified in the notice.
  3. In the application the candidates must indicate the faculty of reference and attach in electronic format:
    1. their curriculum vitae, dated and signed, including the indication of their personal data, indicating the e-mail address where they intend to receive communications related to the selection procedure;
    2. copy of a valid document, dated and signed;
    3. copy of their tax code;
    4. copy of the qualifications supporting their application.

  4. Failure to submit the elements required in points a) and b) will result in the inadmissibility of the application.
  5. The applications submitted will be assessed by a commission comprised of the coordinators of the Study Courses.
  6. According to the availability of the individual Degree Course/Course The candidate deemed suitable by the Commission will then be contacted by the Professors, the Study Course Coordinators and/or the Academic Board of Education for participation in examinations and/or any related activities.
  7. Following the direct call, the teacher assistants will be alternatively required:

    1. to submit a personal statement affirming that they are not a public employee or, in any case, that they are not employed by a public institution (for candidates who are not public employees).
    2. to submit a copy of a specific authorisation issued by the public institution they are employed in pursuant to Article 53 of Legislative Decree 165/01 and/or Article 6 of Law 140/97 (for candidates who are public employees).

  8. The candidates fulfilling the provisions of the previous paragraphs, shall be included among the eligible applicants.
  9. In any case, teacher assistants must promptly inform the University in case they take on roles in public administrations;
  10. In accordance with specific educational needs, tenured Professors, the Study Course Coordinators and/or the Academic Board of Education will identify among the suitable candidates the appropriate profile on the basis of the time available and, favouring proximity to the location at which the lecturer will perform the duties provided for in Article 1, applies for appointment.
  11. The provisions of lett. b) , par. 7 are valid for the 12 months following its receipt and must therefore be re-submitted every 12 months.
  12. Teacher assistants may also be appointed for more than one subject, but in any case belonging to a single area to which the subjects belongs.

Art. 3 - Eligibility for the position 

  1. The position is accessible to:

    1. candidates in possession of a PhD degree in a field of research consistent with the subjects provided in the Faculty indicated by the candidate in the application form;
    2. candidates holding a teaching position in a degree course for at least one full academic year and with reference to a disciplinary sector belonging to the Faculty indicated by the candidate in the application form;;
    3. candidates in possession of both of the following qualifications related to the Faculty indicated in the application form:

      1. possession of a degree (old system), specialist degree, master's degree or five-year degree, including single-cycle degree (new system), attained at least two years before the submission of the application form;
      2. possession of significant post-graduate competence proven by scientific publications and/or duly documented professional activity.

  2. The individual commission, exclusively with reference to the requirement provided for in letter c), may decide to define a minimum graduation mark.

Art. 4 - Revocation of the qualification of teacher assistant 

  1. The qualification of "teacher assistant" will be revoked upon the occurrence of one of the following events:

    1. when the teacher assistant has not participated in at least one examination session for a period of 12 consecutive months or more;
    2. when the teacher assistant is subject to a disciplinary measure;
    3. when the teacher assistant has violated the provisions of the first paragraph of Article 5;
    4. when, even in the absence of a disciplinary measure, the commission referred to in the fifth paragraph of Article 2 decides that the candidate is unfit to continue their function; in this case the teacher assistant may file a request to the Rector for a review within 60 days; when the teacher assistant has failed to provide the communications and the prescribed authorisations pursuant to paragraphs 7 and 10 of Article 2;
    5. when the reader sends a request to renounce to the qualification.

Art. 5 - Obligations and use of the title 

  1. Teacher assistants may use the title only after the appointment received by direct call and until the occurrence of a cause for disqualification and with the indication of the disciplinary scientific sector for which it was conferred.

Art. 6 - Reimbursement of expenses  

  1. For the activity actually carried out (participation in examination sessions and/or seminar activities) at the Novedrate and Rome branches, the teacher assistancts may request reimbursement for travel expenses actually incurred and documented up to a maximum of €50 for each day the activity is actually carried out and only if the lecturer lives more than 20 km from the location of the examination.
  2. For activities carried out at other branches, the request is subject to the written approval of the Academic Board of Education.
  3. The request for reimbursement must be presented by the student to the offices of the location where the exam and/or seminar was held, along with in the (only in cases provided), the written approval of the Academic Board of Education, within 30 days following the activity; if the request is not presented within this deadline, the right to reimbursement is considered expired.
  4. The request provided for in the previous paragraph, must be complete with a copy of the travel documents. For the reimbursement of the expenses related to the use of a personal car, the candidate may request an amount equal to the cost of a train ticket for the same route, upon specific approval by the Academic Board of Education. The request for reimbursement must include the tickets issued by the toll station or the Telepass printout, for the justification of the route travelled.
  5. No reimbursement will be granted in the absence of the submission of travel documents and/or motorway toll receipts or prior authorisation from the Academic Board of Education.
  6. No reimbursement will be granted for all activities related to the implementation of exams in online modality.

Art. 7 - Attendance fee  

  1. For the activity actually carried out, the lecturer may request an attendance token for each day on which the activity is actually carried out, as detailed below:

    1. For activities related to the performance of LABORATORY exercises and/or OTHER EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES with the possible performance of profit examinations as evaluating or non-evaluating members and with the functions of verbalising secretary in online modality and/or at University facilities and/or other external facilities with the same, the amount of the token is 100 euros;
    2. For activities related to the implementation of presential examinations as an evaluating member, the amount of the token is 100 euro;
    3. For activities related to the implementation of oral examinations in online modality as an evaluating member of at least 4 examined candidates the amount of the token is 50 euro;
    4. For activities related to the conduct of presential or computer-based profit examinations as a non-assessing member and recording secretary, the amount of the token is 50 euro for educational activities taking up half a day;
    5. For activities related to the same-day performance of profit examinations in presence and in telematic mode as a non-assessing member and as secretary of the minutes, the amount of the token is €80;
    6. For activities related to the holding of profit examinations in presence as a non-assessing member and acting as recording secretary, the amount of the token is €80 for teaching activities taking up the whole day;
    7. for seminar activities, tutorials and/or activities related to the conduct of profit examinations as evaluating members and acting as recording secretary for MASTER and/or PROFESSIONAL COURSES of the School World, the amount of the token is 80 euros for teaching activities that take up the whole day;
    8. for seminar activities, tutorials and/or activities related to the conduct of profit examinations as evaluating members and acting as recording secretary for MASTER and/or PROFESSIONAL COURSES of the School World, the amount of the token is €40 for teaching activities that take up half a day.

  2. The request for the token must be submitted by teacher assistants to the offices of the location where the exam and/or seminar was held, unless otherwise provided for by the Academic Board of Education due to emergencies, within 30 days of the implementation of activity.
  3. Failure to submit the request within the aforementioned deadline attests the Adjunct Faculty member's intention not to request any token.
  4. The amount of the token, provided for in the first paragraph, is gross of withholding taxes and will be disbursed in compliance with the procedures, formalities and limits of the regulations in force.
  5. The token is daily and cannot be accumulated with any other tokens for teaching activities carried out on the same day.

Art. 8 - Submission of the applications

  1. The candidates may submit their applications rom the opening of this call for applications without any time limit until the end of the academic year, by filling in the form available uppon registration to the Academic institutional website.
  2. The selection and examination of the applications will be carried out at intervals defined by the Commission consisting in the Coordinators of the Courses of Study of the Faculty indicated in the call for applications.

Art. 9 - Final provisions

  1. As provided for in paragraph six, art. 2, the candidate considered suitable by the Commission, following the assessments in terms of availability of the individual Degree Course/Teaching Course to perform the role, may be contacted by the professors, the Coordinators of the Course of Study and/or the Academic Board of Education for participation in examinations and/or any related activities.
  2. The candidate will be included in a list of other candidates eligible for the position; this eligibility does not guarantee the actual performance of the related activity: such activation remains subject to the actual teaching requirements of the Course of Study and of the holder(s) of the teaching activity.
