Academic Master - 2nd level (2 Years)
OBJECTIVES
The course provides the fundamental knowledge and skills required to undertake academic studies in the fields of cultural heritage, landscape conservation, urban and peri-urban regeneration strategies. Furthermore, the learning pathway provides information on the dynamics and methods of access to European and international public calls for the support of cultural, social and economic activities aimed at the revitalisation of small and medium-sized urban entities. Upon completion of the Master, the candidates may aspire to high-profile jobs in the industrial field and in the public administrations.
The aim of the Master is to train the candidates for the following professional positions:
- Person in charge of public and private cultural assets;
- Person in charge of the protection, valorization and development of the territory's architectural/urban heritage, as well as landscape heritage and cultural parks;
- Museum Guides and Experts in museum didactics and image education;
- Qualified art tour guides;
- Operators in the field cultural, recreational and craft tourism;
- Organisers for cultural events;
- Participants to national and international public calls.
TARGET STUDENTS
The course represents a unique opportunity for graduates and professionals with a scientific, technical or humanistic background to acquire skills related to historical knowledge, cultural heritage, sustainable design and its impact on the local development processes.
The aim of the Master is to train highly professional candidates capable of undertaking the folowing positios: Person in Charge of the Conservation and Restoration of the Cultural Heritage in the Public Administration at a Local and Regional level; Urban and Peri-urban Cultural Heritage Managers within Local Foundations, Research Organisations, International Organisations and NGOs.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Before the matriculation deadline all candidates must have attained a five-year degree (Specialist Degree or Master's Degree) or an equivalent title in the following areas: Architecture, Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Landscape Architecture, Urban and Environmental Spatial Planning, Geography, Modern and Classical Literature (DM 509/99 and DM 270/04), Conservation of Cultural Heritage, Antiquity, Philological, Literary and Historical-Artistic Sciences, Tourism Sciences.
All the courses will be provided in english, and taught by highly-qualified members of the teaching staff. Therefore, all candidates must be fluent in spoken and writtem English. Nevertheless, the students will have at their disposal a series of summaries redacted in italian.
DURATION AND STRUCTURE
The duration of the Master is two years, for a total of 1.500 hours per year.
The didactic activities will be implemented on the online platform of the university (accessible 24 hours a day).
In order to attain the final qualification, the students must pass all the exams programmed for each year as well as a final exam, which will consist in the presentation of a final dissertation at one of the branches of the University.
Upon completion of all the exams, the Master's degree course offers the possibility to attend a one-week Summer School that will give participants 3CFU, which will be deducted from the 6CFU related to the discussion of the final exam.
Upon completion of the course, the candidate will be awarded a mark in hundredths, resulting from the overall average of the examinations taken and the mark obtained in the final examination.
