Local and web Journalism

1st Level Academic Master

OBJECTIVES
The aim of the Master is to provide the following knowledge and competencies:

  • the role of the local press in its area, what makes the news and how news stories are articulated in a local newspaper
  • the role of the editor of a newspaper
  • local sports and how a sports newspaper is created
  • local news journalist, correspondents and contributors. Local news, crime news and judicial news, investigations.
  • how to write news for the local web
  • digital journalism and the role of social media, knowledge of SEO and WordPress
  • language of news
  • interview techniques
  • Illustrating and exploring the main concepts of TV communication, analyzing peculiarities and differences with other media and studying multimedia integration solutions
  • local food and wine journalism and communication
  • create a local content format

 

TARGER STUDENTS
The Master is aimed at graduates of all faculties who wish to gain knowledge about journalism with a focus on local realities, territory and digital marketing.

Furthermore, the master is aimed at press and communications office workers of public and private companies.

 

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Degree attained before Ministerial Decree 509/99, or Bachelor's Degree, attained pursuant to MD 270/04 in any discipline or equivalent degree.

 

STRUCTURE AND DURATION

The master has an annual duration and is structured into 5 modules provided in blended modality, through the academic platform accessible 24 hours a day and frontal lessons in live streaming modality. Furthermore, the candidates must carry out 150 hours of curricular internship.

In order to attain the final certificate, the candidates must participate in at least 80% of presential lessons, pass the multiple-choice profit exams scheduled for each macro module of the course, complete the scheduled internship hours, and take a final exam that consists in writing a paper to be discussed in front of a faculty committee appointed by the University.
