UI GREENMETRIC
For the 2022 edition of the UI GreenMetric World University Rankings, eCampus, at its first participation, was ranked at the 32nd place in Italy and at the 844th place in the world on 1,050 universities that have successfully completed the complex phase of data collection and transmission and that, therefore, have been surveyed.
ABOUT THE GREENMETRIC WORLD UNIVERSITY RANKINGS
In 2022 eCampus University participated for the first time to the UI GreenMetric World University
Rankings, the ranking of eco-sustainable universities created with the aim of pushing decision
makers and stakeholders to engage in the fight against climate change, improving the efficiency of the
management of renewable and non-renewable resources and in the social promotion of sustainable behaviour, in an
environmental, economic and social sense.
The aim of the ranking, developed in 2010 by the University of Jakarta, Indonesia, is to evaluate on a
global scale the initiatives and policies implemented by the Universities in the field of
sustainable development, in order to increase awareness on environmental issues and economic and
social respect and to suggest possible areas for intervention and improvement.
The data required for participation in the ranking cover very diverse areas:
- settings and infrastructures(SI);
- energy consumption and policies to reduce the impact of energy choices (EC);
- waste management (WS);
- water management (WR);
- transportation policies (TR);
- education and research in the environmental field (ED).
THE POINTS GAINED IN EACH AREA ARE CONSIDERED FOR THE OVERALL RATING:
Data are collected via an online questionnaire;
each answer provided must be corroborated by documentary evidence. Subsequently, UI GreenMetric reviewers
validate the answers on the basis of the evidence provided.
The participation of eCampus in this classification is a sign of the university's growing interest in
sustainability issues, not only environmental but in its various forms.
